deja-vu

Eons ago, my parents and I visited the American Museum of Natural History in NYC - Nirvana for a kid like me who loved science, and animals in particular.  One of the permanent attractions at the Museum is the hall of dioramas of animals in their native habitats.  Now, we've all seen "stuffed" animals at our local hunting and fishing stores, gun shops, and the occasional "trophy room" in someone's house, but the specimens at the Museum are in a different league altogether.  One literally felt as if they were IN that environment WITH those animals, and that they were still alive.  The hall of habitat dioramas is a permanent part of the Museum, and its impact on me is indelible.  It is a must-see for anyone visiting NYC.

While taking snapshots of dogbert at the lake recently, I found one picture that immediately reminded me of a diorama at the American Museum of Natural History.  The only thing missing was a badger!
