Happy St. Patricks Day!

For some strange reason, none of our local stores had anything dog-related for St. Patrick's Day.  So we were unable to get him anything new to wear.  Perhaps it's the proximity to Easter?  Not sure, but regardless - Ramsay was not very happy.  His only recourse was to raid my closet...

life imitating...life?

While reviewing material in the "Obstetrics and Gynecology" chapter (for continuing medical education purposes...ug), I came across a picture of a fetus in the womb that looked something like this:

This was followed by a strange sense of deja-vu.  I figured I had just been sitting there for too long, and got up to take a break.  All became clear when I walked across the room to find this:

Ramsay enjoys hiding under blankets on the couch, and spends much of his (non-daycare) days snoozing there while NewMama and I are at work.  Recently, I started to roll his blankets into a donut to simulate a dog bed, so that he could rest his neck on the edge and still cuddle inside it.  It seems the blanket-donut gives dogbert some womb-like comfort as well! 

we say a little prayer for...

...our blog friend, Joey, from "The Long and Short of it All".  It seems like only yesterday when we mourned the loss of Joey's sister Maggie.  Rest in peace, dear friend.  We are sure that you and Maggie are in a better place, and are barking down upon us from the land of eternal treats, toys and rawhide.  Rowdy's got some big shoes to fill for the blog, but we're confident that "his wire-ness" will be just fine.  ;)

the (other) big game

Well, another year that our favorite team is NOT in the Superbowl.  No worries.  We'll still have fun, and dogbert has his own big game to watch anyway!

death of the spider

WARNING:  NERD, SPOILER and "OMG YOU'RE THAT OLD"ALERT!

Like many little boys I grew up admiring and following superheroes, and Spider-Man has to be my all-time favorite.  Whether he appeared in comics or on television (ala cartoons, live action series, or kids' shows...does anyone remember Spidey on "The Electric Company"? Google it!), I could not get enough of the web-head.  You can imagine how ecstatic I was when the newer live-action movies came out (can you believe that was already 11 years ago?!), and how much I appreciated last year's "reboot" of the movie.

So it came as quite a shock when Marvel Comics recently announced the death of Spider-Man's alter ego, Peter Parker.  More shocking was the manner in which he died, and the character who replaced Peter as the webslinger (I won't spoil THAT part for you if you don't already know). 

Ramsay, who has spent hours sleeping through appreciating the comics and movies with me, has become protective of our beloved superhero and is still reeling from the plot twist.
