the littlest lifeguard

Ah, the swimming pool.  Last year, dogbert was deathly afraid of the water.  Life jacket on, he had to be carried in - and even then, it was all he could do to swim to the nearest step or wall to attempt a quick exit.

Surprisingly, not the case this year!  Although he has yet to jump into the pool by himself, he has had no problem being in the pool with NewMama.  He now swims without his life jacket - although we still put it on him in case he gets tired, or accidentally dunked by one of the kids swimming by him.  So far, so good!

Ramsay has also been a good little lifeguard this year, making sure that swimmers' heads come up out of the water after they jump in.  Too long of a wait and dogbert does laps around the pool, barking his little head off!  Of course, this means that no one is permitted to swim underwater for too long during Ramsay's watch.
HEY, YOU!  no pushing off the walls!
boy i gotta ask dad to get me a whistle...
towel? anyone?
With a little luck, we're hoping NewMama can get Ramsay to jump in the water from the side of the pool.  We've been showing him videos of other doxies taking flying leaps off the side into the water, but he hasn't quite caught on yet!  Paws crossed!
